Does anyone use one? Have 3 ponies so getting a good 2 full barrows a day. We have to push it back to the yard and its a gentle uphill slope which is killing my shoulders (Im not as young as I was). Would a motorized barrow cope, its about a 400m round trip from yard, around my paddocks and back again, mostly flat but uneven in places and a couple of my paddocks are on a slope. Its quite an outlay so dont want to bother if its not going to cope!

I have a ride on mower minus the cutting gear and a plastic tipping trailer for this purpose. It’s a godsend and holds much more than a wheelbarrow so less trips to the dung heap. Because it doesn’t actually work as a mower it was cheap to buy second hand. The trailer was used too.

I did think about a motorised wheelbarrow, but they are expensive!

Same here!

That isn't a very big wheelbarrow.

I think buying a non cutting lawn mower is a good idea! Which makes can also tow a trailer? If you had to buy a new trailer it might cost you more than the ex mower. Although you would need to know that the engine is still good.

Holly/Ivy, I was looking at that one myself. Its weight limit and capacity are on a par with what I need. Do you have that barrow?
no i went shopping to see how expensive they were, this was one of the cheapest. you would be able to extend the height of the bucket by putting an up skirt on it to increase the volume you can move....?

I have a sherpa battery powered wheelbarrow ( a very lucky second hand gumtree purchase for a fraction of new price!) It copes well with a full load of muck and steeply sloped field, probably approx 300 to 400m trip, but it has 150 kg/170 litre capacity, compared to 100kg/106litre of the greenworks one, it also has a 24v 10Ah battery, so 240W, vs 40v 2Ah (80W) on this one. Keep looking second hand, they do occasionally come up!.

Ooh, forgot to say, with the mower suggestion, look to get a set of tractor style tyres (forget the name of the style but they've like mini tractor tyres). Made a big difference to mine when pulling a a full wagon across slick grass, up a slope etc.
