Motto needed !!

My liveries have all decided that (and this was over a glass or two of wine last night!) the yard needed a motto to sum it up and something that could be added as a strap line to our logo on our jackets, polo's. baseball caps etc.

So we all decided to come up with a couple of suggestions and over a (glass or two of wine next week) we would have a vote on the caption that is the best.

Now I might be fantastic YO, fantastic rider, fantastic groom, loo cleaner, drain pipe mender, poo picker extradinaire ( only three of these actually apply!!!) but I am useless at this kind of thing .... so a little cheating is required and that's where you come in ....

yard established 31 years ago by myself. have 35 liveries - mixed DIY to full, hunter, stallion livery, and have been taeching for 27yrs.

Out of the 35 liveries 15 of them have been with me for 10 yrs or more, a further 11 for 7yrs or more and the rest newbies for 1-4yrs ...........I am probably bored with most of them ;-) xxxx

so what amazing motto can you think of ...

Well... my riding instructor used to yell 'SIT UP AND KICK ON!' at me week after week. ;) The other one that she tried (which didn't work, because I almost fell off in a fit of giggles) was 'RIDE LIKE A GLADIATOR - DEATH OR GLORY!' :p
 
Use one of the comical 'reasons' why people date horse riders:

1. We ride on top
2. We take control
3. We can move slow and fast
4. We can hold positions for a VERY long time
5. We can take the pain
6. We go big or go home
7. We can get down and dirty
8. We know how to move with it
9. We work hard to achieve our goals
10. We can ride for many hours

There's many more!

(i'm thinking of that 'making your house a home' ad strapline...
you must have lovely liveries and/or the patience of saint to have that many for that long, i salute you!

Like 'making your horse at home' quite fitting for a livery yard

as for the clients.....well the only way to keep them is ...... and this is a trade secret !! .......Bark at then all even when nothing is wrong, stride around the yard like a sergent major, beat them all with a stick at least once a day, oh and make sure there is a b***y big padlock on the gate so no one can escape !!

In reallity I have super clients that all get on, most are more mature in age, most of us compete and we have a hacking club for those who don't but would like company when riding out. We do lots of things as a group . shows, HOYS, Olympia, etc and also have a film and a book club as well. I tend to organise demos and talks that OH can come to as well, the latest a photography course was fantastic.

My Uni riding club... Not my choice but certainly gets us noticed when we are out and about...

"getting our leg over since 1997"

(choc for those who know which uni it is!!)

This has just made me laugh, as one of my more mature clients who is here sat in kitchen with me has just said ... 'I haven't got my leg over since 1997!'
