Moulting

Just wondering, if any of your horses are starting to Moult yet, mine has started already!!!

Mine did this time last year, clipped her 2 weeks ago and now expect her new coat to start coming through. I was amazed at how early it was, must be a global warming thing!

Yep mine has started too all around his ears

we are expecting a really cold snap here at the end of the week, suppose I'll have to go dig out some more rugs

That is what i heard too thatit was supposed to get colder....

I have kept my rugs out just in case as the other day i went out to the car and had frost on my windscreen

it was only 1 degree this morning when I went out to feed (5.30am!!!) and there was a layer of frost about 1 cm thick on my windscreen, and I believe its to get wet for the weekend and then freezing next week.

"note to self - dig out thermal socks!!!"

Had the first signs of ear moulting at Christmas....its stopped now!!!

Last year we had snow in Feb so Im not getting too excited about spring being on the way just yet! Looks like the horses arent either!

My mare is, she was left au-natural because she's in foal, and shestarted mouting last week

Yes all of mine are shedding.....and they shouldn't be! We WILL get a winter here, it's just taking it's time arriving.

No, mine clings on to his hair for dear life! My friend did comment that her's was moulting last night though.

I know, I'm just waiting for some sneachta (snow in Irish!!) Fingers crossed for next week!!!!

Not moulting yet, but he is getting itchy. Vet though it might be cos he's over heating a bit, cos of his thick coat and the milder weather.
