Moulting!!

Friend's horse is always the first to start, my mare likes to hold onto hers for a bit longer but as soon as I see those first few hairs it makes me feel happy!

One of mine is like a wooly mammoth and she's been moulting for a couple of weeks now.

The other is refusing and holding onto every hair he has, but he is clipped to be fair (fatty, lol).

Both welsh As so quite interesting, the only significant difference between them is the clipping, and their age (wooly mammoth is 25, the other is 9). Regardless, yay spring! Although am scared of the spring grass for the 25 year old, she's lami prone. Eeeek!

I have one whose rugged and who had a trace clip back in October who is moulting. The rugged oldie hasn't lost so much as a hair and neither have the unrugged ponies.

One of ours has been moulting for a week and has just started flying out in clumps, the other hasn't shed a hair yet.

Spring is around the corner!! 🌷☀️

Just bought a rake type implement and got a mega pile.of hair out of my fluffball. He started shedding at the beginning of the month.

Mine is moulting loads and is so itchy. I keep getting parts of him poked in my direction so I can give him a good scritch and get some hair out. He is groomed but certain areas need extra attention apparently… 😁

lily is starting to moult on her unclipped bits! only a little bit but we’re getting there! diva has nothing to part with as i clipped her maybe a month ago😂

Daughter’s (now) 25 year old started at the end of December, mine is definitely starting now too (mine takes until about June to lose it!)

My conniexTb who has a hunter clip is well on his way to his summer coat. He is a sooty buckskin so his beautiful dapples are starting to come through.
My pure connie who also has a hunter clip is hanging on to his fluffy ears and legs and shows no sign of a summer coat.

Unfortunately the pure connie is generally a more accuraate weatherman!

My mare unrugged and more wooly than the other is shedding heavily due to last week mild temps. I know from the forecast that frosty nights were imminent so i resisted the urge to get the brush on her, until + night temps return soon.
