Hello,

I am looking to do a degree at Moulton College - you can do a 2 year Foundation Degree in Equine Management then a top up to BSc in the third year, OR a 3 year BSc in Equine Management.

Other than the entry requirements does anyone know the precise differences between the two courses?

With the foundation, do you have to do yard duties, can you get onto the dressage academy etc, and do you do different assignments to the BSc?

Thanks!

I'm at Brackenhurst not at Moulton but the main difference between the Fd and Bsc is that the Bsc is more classroom based with less lectures and more self study. The Fd is more practical and you spend more time on the yard. The assignments are more like coursework but both groups attend the same lectures. You have to do yard duties on both courses.

Thank you for your reply! I'd assume there'd be little difference between the colleges structure-wise so hopefully they do the same lectures at Moutlon too... I am strange and like lectures, so I suppose the Fd would suit then... Thanks again x

hello I went to moulton i did the diploma. in my first year i did yard duties as a part of the course and as a lecture if you like. then 2nd year you are put into a rota and every 4-5 weeks you do yard duties in your group. so 7am start on the yard still 9 then again after college then you will take it in turns to do a late check at about 7 i think it was. If you dont live locally they suggest you live in the college campus during your dutie week
