Mount Ballan Pre Novice - advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have just read thread on Mount Ballan, it will my 1st Pre-N too - so advice really needed. Will you have to jump onto water? You had to at Bricky (with alternative) - could really do with info. Horse and me are green around the gills at thought.

There was an alternative at Bricky - PN you can only have a step in any more than that and there has to be an alternative.

Mount Ballan is like a large pond jump 1/2 strides then water which you trot through and out over a fence. Nothing very hard. Mount Ballan always causes loads of problems because Eric Winter is very clever with his lines.

On a scale of 1-10 with twn being the most tricky, how difficult is the x/c - would there be better ones to do for a 1st time PN? What is Aldon like?
