Well, what can I say? I love my pony! She absolutely tried her heart out for me at the Regionals yesterday.

The warmup test was one of those tests that you come out of thinking it will either be a great mark or a shocking mark... Well we got 69.3% which was enough for 6th in a class of 34! Good girl Genie! Now also just 2 points short of winters Q.

Our regionals test felt good, the canter was a bit onward bound but that is the mare... Was disappointed with 65.9% to be honest... We were initially in 3rd, then 4th, then 5th... With just three scores to go up we were clinging onto 10th place... and ended up 13th! Still, in a big section of 27 I cannot complain, and she couldn't have given me more than she did.

Frustratingly, the judges at M & H had her on 67/68%... the judge at C had us on 62% and almost last! If she had been in-line with the other judges we would have been about 6th! Hey ho... that's dressage and part of having more than one judge. Very frustrating that three judges can watch the same test and be so different with their marks!

I flopped quite early last night... the warmup test was at 8.58am so I was on the yard at 5am, thank goodness we're only half an hour away!

Photos are up on my blog, with more to follow as the lovely trendybraincell came and was our personal paparazzi!

Thank you for reading, have some left over pringles!

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday :(

My friend saw your second test and she said she'd agree it would have been around the 68% mark for her (a list 4 judge I think).

Well done though. Not far off your Winter Q's and good result regardless of one judge. :) xxx

Thank you! Glad your friend agreed! I know it's part and parcel of it, but it's still frustrating! ;) :D Pony was super, so much better than Summerhouse the other week.

Well done and good re the winter q's.

Thank you! We've had a good run recently so just one 65% will do it, which she can do in her sleep (hopefully not famous last words!!)

Was nice to meet you briefly as well! How did it go? xxx

Well done :) she looked super.

I was writing for the judge at H ;) apologies for the scrawly writing!

I managed to read it fine!! I liked the judge at H, she gave us the highest mark ;) So chuffed with the pony - there was a HUGE crowd watching and she just got on with it and showed off!

So close. This report needs pics ;)

I'm waiting for the pro pics to go up!! I can give you this one of Genie wanting our bacon butties after her first test...

Nice pic :)
I was impressed with our judges. My scores were 168, 169 and 171. very close overall but varied on individual movements as you would expect. Final halt got 6, 6.5 and 8.

That is good! We got 174.5, 177, and.... 162.5.... The judge at M actually had us above the horse that came 2nd in the end, so we have positives to take away! I've always said that judges either love or hate the pony, and to me this is pretty strong evidence in favour of that!
