Mountain horse high rider boots

Hi I have just bought some used Mountain horse high rider boots. Thay have some discolouring and a hole to one leg on the outside near the elastic. Can they be fixed and can you recommend anyone near Stafford (new to riding so not sure).

Sorry did I post in the wrong place ? Tried a few cobblers today no one seemed to be able to fix them and they only glanced at the boot.

did you know about the damage before you bought them? if not i would be returning them, you may find that a local tack shop may have contacts for someone who can repair them, if not try contacting mountain horse directly

Feet first in Chesterfield will repair boots like this. They have a website and will deal with repairs by post. Their site is mainly motorbike snd hiking boots but I have taken mountain horse boots there. There is a cobbler near me who will do them too but many don't want to know. Your best bet is to find a real old school one rather than a chain.

Thank you for your replies, extremely grateful. I did know about the damage beforehand and took the risk buying them of Ebay as mountain horse boots can be very expensive (Got them for £20.00).They are in good condition except for the hole and the colour is a bit grey(worn black) I have seen patches you can get to repair holes http://www.amazon.co.uk/MASTAPLASTA...qid=1369129889&sr=8-4&keywords=leather+repair but wanted to try something more professional. I will see if I can find a local tack shop if not Chesterfield may be worth a look. I am also trying to get them back to their original(or as close as) finish so looking into polishes etc. to make the leather soft/supple and shine again any ideas will be welcome.

Once again very grateful for your replies and will keep you updated with the results.

Thank You
P.S I have emailed Mountain Horse and am awaiting a reply just hoping it wont cost too much.

Is the hole on the leather or elastic? I would try a saddler that does repairs to leather they might be your best bet, I love my mountain horse boots they get cleaned the same as my tack, put a good leather conditioner on them and keep them stored with the boot suport things that go inside and always zip them up it helps the zip and leather last longer.

Thanks the hole is near the elastic, the elastic is fine just some of the leather has come off. I will shop around to see what I can find thanks

Thank you for your help, Feet first in Chesterfield have responded from some more photos I sent. They have advised £20.00 to glue/sow a patch which would be visible but waterproof so may not add asthetically to the boots but at least the boots would be functional. I cant think of any way to repair without the patch showing anyway. Does this sound reasonable?

sounds like a very good price to get them fixed, im sure once they are polished up well you should hardly notice it, if not you have a good pair of every day riding boots :) as like you previously said mountain horse boots are expensive but well known for their quality

Thanks for the advice I may go ahead and get them repaired. Thanks for all the advice may try to see if there is anyone local who can do it if not chesterfield it is then
