Seriously painful backs of knees right now - the boots are new, the test is on friday, I have ridden in them last 2 days and my skin is v sore. Any ideas? Skin graft? Tramadol?

I have the heel lifts in them already... Is there ANYTHING I can do between now and then?? Get my sister and mum to wear them for me?! Keep riding in them? Wear them round the house?

Which ones are they? The problem with them is they are, or mine are very close fitting and dont drop that much. Ive had mine 3 years and yes theyve dropped but only a bit.
I think your pushing it for Friday to be honest but keep wearing them around the house is all I can suggest.

Sorry, no quick fix, but I had the same problems as you and all I could do was to wear a thick pair of over the knee socks (protected the backs of my knees) and wear them all the time. I even wore them to work under my jeans! You could also (though your not supposed to) put them next to a just warm radiator to soften them before you put them on, makes them more pliable than when cold so easier to walk in.

They are the High Rider II. I can tolerate riding in them - I'm just a big wuss with pain!! Guess I'll be grinning and bearing it for friday! At least my leg aids will be subtle cos I can't move them without grimacing.. I envisage compliments about my very stable lower leg :D:D

Ride in them as much as possible put plasters on where your sore, everytime you ride in them clean and treat them in something with bees wax to help soften them, if your only doing a bit of riding get other people to ride in them to and clean them after that aswell, I got some a week and half before a big show and rode in them 3 times a day, they dropped and softened and were really comfy at the show.:)

use horsemans one step to soften them absolute gem :D i have the sportive high rider boots and used that to soften them up a bit before commonride in them, no more sore feet :D

I feel your pain :( I struggled for weeks trying to break in a pair of Petrie riding boots, never again, it felt like they stopped my circulation in my calves. That was the reason I bought the MH zipped boots, absolute bliss. I have the High Caliber or Richmond and they are very close fitting around the ankle so didnt drop much. You should be ok with yours as they arent as snug. Get plenty of plasters and live in them. Fingers crossed :)

Wear them all day for a couple of days! Wear them around the house, to walk to the post box.. anything! Also running around in them helps I've found. Do look like a bit of a prat while doing it though :p xx
