Mounted Special Constables?

Warwickshire are considering using volunteers as mounted special officers, so if anyone fancies having a go, check this out:

Apparently you'll receive training and a hi-viz vest.

Bet it'll improve road conditions for hackers at the very least.
I am surprised they don't give them helmet cams, maybe a funding issue.

Its a well known fact that country people & horse riders in particular - are the busybodies of the countryside!!! LOL

So it would make sense to use us as we often notice things that other people don't, simply because we are higher up and can look over fences (LOL), and/or our horses will notice something different even if we don't.

It wouldn't need to cost a lot: a day's training would cover stuff like basic first aid, citizen's arrest, H&S, etc., and then all they'd need to do would be to issue us with a tabard/notebook, or what-have-you............ and let us get on with it.

Many officers now have body cams, so I reckon mounted officers will also be offered them.
