What do you use to mount at shows. We went out at the weekend and I had to clamber on from a fence which isnt ideal and i'm the worst person in the world to give a leg up to! One of my friends has a lovely folding sturdy plastic step, but I've tried all over the place near me (supermarket, hardware store, b&q) and I cant find one...

Suggestions please - we also have a trailer so something that folds is better :)

I have a two-step stool that I got from the tack shop, think you can get them from elsewhere as well. It lives in the lorry under the saddles and is brilliant!

I see a sponsored advertise link of the side at the mo for a sturdy folding mounting step! LOL!

I use the wheel arch of the horsebox, a fence or a ledge :) or my grooming box, its one of those sturdy ones you can stand on!

Check out pound shops or those JML websites or shops, they can stock handy step stools aswell!

Lidl have a 2 step periodically and its only£9.99 so keep checking

Otherwise I use lorry steps, ifor bit between the wheel and the ramp

However for polocrosse you have to mount from the ground, so I have been practising to be more elegant!

Thanks, those small step ladders are probably my best and economical option - cant believe how much a plastic step is, we use to have a fixed curver plastic step which was about a foot hight that was perfect. I'll just have to have step envy!

I bought years ago from Ride Away I think, a pair of foldaway two step steps! Couldn't be without them to get on my 17.2 and they are used for everything, sitting on them for a cuppa, drying towels off, a shelf for solutions when applying to my horse. One of my best buys!

I use the side of the trailer, or get a leg up. Or if available a gate! I'm around 8 stone though, I would continuous use of a heavier person may break it though.

I use a crate that I 'borrowed' from a pub, I can leave it by my trailer and not worry about people stealing it as it didn't cost me anything and it is the perfect height to get on.
