I need something moveable, big enough to easily pop on a big horse from (so higher than 1ft!) and highly indestructible by the horse that likes to climb into/onto everything!

Any recommendations???

Otherwise look in your local feed mercants mine do a two set block or the round plastic one both are good. Round one in the lorry and the other one is the yard both cost about £25.00.

A friend has used the IKEa one to and said its fantastic

I agree with Shellonabeach....Ikea & get one of their step stools, you can't make one for what they are selling them for. Remember to treat them with some preservative though because they come in an untreated state.

Robinsons sell a good one - rigid plastic, 2 steps, rope carrying handle so you can drag it around, sturdy and no possible wobble. Think its about £25 and they do it in a couple of colours. I've got one coz I'm DEFO not as bendy and supple as I once was! I'm 5.4 and can easily hop bareback onto my 15.2 off it.

on a big horse the IKEA mounting blocks dont tend to be quite high enough. I go for three bales of straw that I can place as steps. And they are soft enough that if horse steps against them they dont hurt themsleves and I can move them when necessary. Throw a plastic sheet over them when it rains or they get soggy.
