Maybe you can attach a (telescope) stick to the step so that you can reach it from the saddle? Make sure to not spook your horse though.

Had a little brain wave last night, am going to try a long piece of baling twine tied to my folding step. Hold on to the end when mounting and chuck it over the back ramp.

Will practice at home, fortunately my mares not spooky so I think it will work

I have a folding step and padlock it to the axel on a long chain. I'd imagine it's opportunistic theives that's take it so probably not carrying bolt cutters.

I always leave my ramp down so this would not work for me, am thinking of getting a light weight shires one as when ground wet the legs sink in


anyone got idea for horse box steps??

On my 7.5t I just stand on my grooms door steps.
