Well tonight was all about getting my new horse to stand still whilst I mounted as yesterday he was a monkey.
Thank you for all your great advice on my other thread. We found what worked was my friend standing in front of him but slightly to the side. Not holding him at all. MY friend patted his forehead ( not rubbed) to distract him. I didn't take a contact on the reins. He stood perfectly still!! We mounted, walked a lap of school, stood for a good amount of time, dismounted and repeated about 6 times!! He was great!! And all this whilst a neighbour was strimming not far from the school!! Very pleased with him, he got big pats and that was enough for tonight. Little ****** bloted his copy book tho by nipping my arm, he didn't half get his neck nipped!!! Little toad!!
