so im moving my horse down south (ive posted about this before so sorry if im boring anyone! lol). Im gonna move him with a transport company. what things might i need to consider for the day of the move? what might i need to take with me? ive never moved him before so its all a bit scary and new!
any help greatly received, thanks in advance!

well both really, the journey and when he gets there. Its really hard to think of what i might need when ive never moved my horse before!

Well think of what you needed when you first got him/her. You will want feed and treats at other end incase hes upset, and maybe a grooming kit to give him a fuss. Haynet for the lorry, and a suitable rug and boots / bandages if you want them. Any other fancy travel tack you want. Then it just depends on how long it will be before you move the rest of your stuff, just move whatever you will need to use on him within that space of time like tack etc. oh and I forgot a biggy, take your first aid kit, accidents always happen when you dont have it!

I would make sure he has a rug on that he wont get too hot in and depending on how many stops he has and how long the journey is, maybe bandages instead of travel boots as they slip a lot easier.
make sure you supply a good sized net as he may not eat the hay they provide, if they provide any!
My horse has travelled from south east england to north west england and was in perfect condition when he arrived so i am sure your boy will be fine! Good luck

You just need your horses passport, protective travel equipment and haynet full of haylage/damp hay.

You will NOT need a rug at the moment due to the high temperature.

The transport company that you choose should have a T2 DEFRA licence with a DEFRA Certification for the lorry.

A good quality company will allow you to travel with your horse-pay extra for an individual load rather than a cheap shared load where upto 20-30 horses can be picked up and travelled all over the world and carry all sorts like strangles.

A part from that all will be well-good luck and enjoy your move
