The horses i have shared in the past have all been kept at their owners house or on privately rented land, but i may be moving to a livery yard. I've heard really good things about it but i wondered if any of you have done this and how easily you settled in there. It's only a small, family run yard but has amazing facilities but am just worried that i wont fit in at all. I'm probably just over-reacting but would like to hear your experiences.

In my experience small yards are fine, and a lovely place to be. It's when you go to the larger yards that problems start occuring, with cliques and bitchyness. Good luck, I'm sure it'll be fine.

my horse is at a small family run yard, we moved there in August and it is a really lovely place to be. Everyone is friendly and helps each other out and its great to be able to hook up with whoever is there to go out for a ride if you don't want to be alone. my horse is happy to have people around all the time too. good luck, it will be great!

you will be fine i moved back into livery 2 years ago and love it there. where is it you are moving to?? as i'm in the same area as you i think

I have been in the same situation as you and have shard horses that were both on livery and kept at home. I much prefer being on a livery yard. Have now got my own horse and have been on two very nice yards with hime. Though may feel differently if got a bad yard. Depends where you go i guess x

from what i've heard it's really nice there and really friendly.

You will be fine, I'm sure. I wouldn't like to keep mine at home, would rather be on a livery yard (though personally prefer large yards, as does my horse, but other like small yards). I like the companionship - people to hack out with, to discuss things with, to laugh with when you do something silly, people to encourage you (or tell you not to do something stupid!) etc.

I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised
