Bit of a way off, but this will take some planning! My soon to be Husband will be based at Catterick come January 2015 and I will be joining him with my horse. I am looking for a super livery yard where I can have him on a full or full/part basis as I will be working during the week.
He is a sensitive TB, so looking for a nice barn type yard, individual turn out, good hacking with quiet lanes, somewhere to park my little lorry (3.5t) with good tack room etc, he is fine on straw so long as its good quality, am happy to provide feed, but hay included would be a bonus.
I need to also suss out who is a good farrier, vet, equine dentist, tack shops, feed merchants, saddlers/menders! As well as who does clinics, where the good venues/ECs etc are. I have heard good things about Richmond, but as yet haven’t been up there to suss it all out.
Any advice gratefully received

Can't help you with a yard particularly, as I live across the moor from there, though come across to compete etc. You could try Eleanor Mercer at Camp Hill who has fab facilities and it is a small yard http://www.eleanormercerequestrian.co.uk/

The area is really horsy though - lots on the go - Richmond EC is excellent (and has a large livery yard) as is Northallerton - both hold BD, BD and BE events. Lots of riding clubs too. I'm pretty sure the garrison has a riding club too...you should enjoy it!
