Moving to Cheshire

Yes took ours up on the hill last week. It's quite boggy at the moment as the soil structure has been disturbed. I've lost my favourite part of the ride, the alley way with tree dodging has disappeared! Our ponies didn't bat an eyelid at the new look hill, but they are pretty steady! Not sure I'm so keen though! http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/small-pet/guinea-pig
have you been on bickerton hill since the tree felling? i haven't put my brave pants on to go as my lad doesn't like tree stumps! :D

don't forget The Pheasant pub, you can ride to it and they have tie rings outside so you can have a drink :)

I'm moving soon but will be staying within 10 miles of malpas. once house I'm looking at is just over the welsh boarder but only 10 min drive into Malpas (my daughter is at school there)

Thank you again, everyone! Maesfen, thanks for the house tip off- it really frustrates me that we still miss listings like this when we have saved searches on Rightmove and signed up with every estate agent! LovesCobs, that is a shame you have to move but thank you for letting me know about the grazing situation. TiddlyPom, I know what you mean about Oxfordshire. We looked at moving there when we first locating from Ireland to the UK and the blood just drained out of my face when I saw the prices. I don't know how people afford to live there! Market Drayton is proving fruitful, los of nice looking properties have come up around the town and one lovely place in Ellesmere. Not sure about the Groves High School though, it's last Ofsted report said it required improvement but I know they have made changes. There is also a lovely place that has come up outside Ellesmere. Did I mention my husband also wants somewhere to go for regular futsal practive?! We are every estate agents nightmare, we have so many boxes to tick. I despair of us every moving though, nothing seems to be selling, including our place!

Webble, that would be great! As soon as we accept an offer on our own place we shall be heading up to Market Drayton to take a look around. I don't want to bother anyone until we are in the position to move on a property and we are looking seriously. At the moment, it is just searching online and checking maps.

The Market Drayton area is very nice. I'm afraid that I know little about the Shropshire schools. There is a grammar school in Newport, I think.

I can fully recommend Brine Leas in Nantwich (my lads went there :)), and Bishop Heber in Malpas. Bishop Heber is 'sportier', the head is a former pro or semi pro rugby player, I believe.

Pupils travel from out of area to both, so even if you find something in N.Shrops, don't rule out a Cheshire school. The advantage of being in catchment is getting the pupils picked up by the school bus, but I know that Bishop Heber has buses that run outside catchment.

Warhammer World in Nottingham is a perfectly feasible day trip from here, too. Spent many a day in Bugmans Bar after ferrying a keen group of teenage Warhammer buffs there.

It's horrible! I love this house so much, I have already decorated it in my mind and I know where everything is going! And I so want my boy at home:(
