Hi

I am moving to Ringwood in 3 weeks time, I now have my own fields, but have no idea where to go for supplies, can anyone tell me where I am able to buy hay, straw feed etc?

Also may need someone to deliver the straw if anyone knows of a good business that delivers?

Thanks in advance :D

Hi, i'm just up the road from Ringwood in Burley.

It's a lovely part of the country and the forest riding is just epic!

There's a feed/hay/straw place in three legged cross, just past the vet clinic. I can't remember the name of it though! They are pretty pricey though they do deliver. We buy our hay and straw direct from a farm in bulk - may be an option for you if you have lors of mouths to feed. We buy our feed from Aively which is the main tackshop in the area and where all my wages seem to go each month!

Aivly for your tack shop, expensive but in ring wood. They also do feed, bedding etc. Also there is Woolsbridge Farm feeds which is nearer Three Legged Cross which also does hay and straw. Towards Fordingbridge there is Pardeys, really like them and they are lovely. Pm me for vets if you want, there are some variable reputations locally! I am very nearby and horses are near the local xc venue so let me know if you want their number. Also just through Three Legged Cross there is another feed place, can't remember their name, Stocks or similar. anything else I can help with yell :-)

No need to boast, you lucky person!!!

If you ever fancy swapping for a while and coming to Cumbria under Water, please let me know (my dream is to move to the New Forest - and Burley in particular!!) :)

Aivly near Ringwood is a big (for Dorset/hampshire) horsey store and does feed etc

There's a small tack shop at Stocks Farm near Bournemouth Airport

Thanks all for you help i will have to drive around and get my bareings, from moving from a small village in cornwall and my horse being on livery to my own field in a place I don't know, is really nerve racking!! Thanks again, will look out for the places you have all mentioned xxx:D

Dorset is the most fab place to live!! We moved here 7 years ago and, god being willing, will never leave.

You will be absolutely fine!! Best of luck.

Another vote for the Paddock Pantry at Sturminster Newton although a long way from you.

I'm in Weymouth. I get feed and basic things locally. But if there's anything else I want I go to paddock pantry or aivly. Also there's some good fb pages. Where ppl buy, sell and swap. :)
