Hi all, I'm not sure about how pricing works yet because I'm currently still in South Africa due to covid but I am moving soon. I'm looking for a full livery. Not DIY because of nerve damage (I can only manage riding, not heavy lifting). I was wondering how much that usually is.

Hi angel - welcome to the forum, and good luck with your move! Horsham is a nice place to relocate to ?
Hopefully in the morning folks who have livery in south uk will chip in with accurate full livery costs. As a rough ballpark....really rough as ive never liveried in south uk...probably allow 100 pounds per week...at least..?

Some liveries have websites so you could google a few to get a feel of UK facilities and pricing.

I don't think you'd get full livery round here for 100/week!
I presume you mean part rather than full or will you want your horse to be ridden by the yard? Part livery here will start at around £650/month for a decent yard with facilities and will go up from there. You may be able to get it slightly cheaper but as with everything, you get what you pay for.
There are plenty of yards around, your best bet is to join Facebook groups for the area. There are West Sussex livery, livery and grazing in the south east, West Sussex riders to name a few. Most decent yards are full so you might want to get on a waiting list.

I’m not far from Horsham. You’re looking at probably £150 a week for full livery at the very least. But there’s a lot of choice and most will have good hacking and facilities.

Also worth considering what you term as full livery.

I have what I would consider half livery:
A) Included:
Horses fed breakfast. Standard food unless owner has left a prepared meal, i.e. only quantities change but no supplements added.
rugs changed
turned out
if necessary fetched in for lunch and turned out again
boxes cleaned and hay given
fetched in
rugs changed
fed supper. Again standard food unless owner leaves prepared
Plus put to horse walker if wanted and fetch in for vet / farrier etc
Putting boots and protectors as per instructions

B) NOT included:
grooming (unless the horse is in a real state and then they usually tidy them up)
exercise / training apart from horse walker
adding supplements etc.
soaking hay done at extra cost
Preparing the horse for the owner to ride
Washing rugs / boots etc

(obviously not exhaustive lists, I am sure that I missed some items)

I would consider A to be part livery and A + B full livery. maybe what you are looking for is a good part livery if it is just the heavy lifting that you want to avoid?

Anyway good luck with the move and I hope that you find a lovely new home for both yourself and the horses.
