Hello,

My family and I have put in an offer on a lovey 8 acre property in a village near lampeter. We hope that we will complete a sale on our current house in Hampshire soon and will be moving..

In Hampshire we are spoilt for choice on equestrian services, such as back people, dentists, farriers , saddle fitters, instructors etc..

I am very anxious to find professionals in our new location to keep my 4 horses on top form. Especially my older mare who needs regular back treatment due to poor conformation.

If anyone can please recommend me any of the above, i would be so grateful . I'm really struggling on google!

If anyone actually lives near lampeter I would Also love some info on local events/bridle ways etc..

I appreciate life is very different to were we live now.. Hopefully much more relaxed!

Thanks :)

Paddy Davies for backs, have used her a few times and everything she says makes sense, and my horse shows a huge difference after treatment with her.
I'm in between farriers, wouldn't touch my last with a bargepole (pm me if you want a name to avoid).
We use Charles Morgan for teeth - great with the horses but can be difficult to get hold of.
Saddle fitters - have heard many good things about Helen Reader.
Have had lessons with Shelly Harris, who's excellent. Having my first lessons with Liz Harris tomorrow so will see how that goes. Kelly at Celaeron is fantastic, worth boxing to her in Aberaeron if she can't come to you.
If you're on fb, might be worth posting for recommendations on a group called aberystwyth equestrian swap shop. Also ceredigion bridleways group should have more info on bridleways and fun rides etc. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your replies. I have found and osteopath and massage therapist that I will use as that is currently working for my mare and she needs soft tissue work regularly.

I will research all the others and def join that Facebook group :) speak soon xx

Another vote here for paddy Davies and Helen reader. You will find it difficult to get hold of Justin Pugh despite his good reputation. I tried for months an never got past the first few text messages so gave up in the end - used my vet instead. Paddy has got a excellent reputation and does a lot of work with race horses here and Ireland. She lives in pencader so not that far in the scheme of things. Same with Helen for saddles. She is a master saddler, excellent reputation and makes fabulous made to measure bridles at very reasonable prices.
