I am moving yards tomorrow, I am really quite nervous about it. I know it's the right decision to move, I just hope the new yard is ok and that the people are nice. Also as I've only had george 5mths (1st horse) I am a bit concerned about uprooting him and stressing him out.

Sorry totally pointless post!

Good luck Trish.

I am sure all will be fine and George and you will be much happier with more turnout.

Change of subject - remind me when do you do your first dressage test - soon isn't it?

You will be fine! So will George but you might need to buy him a new rug just to settle him down!!

thanks guys!
Yes cahill I have accumulated rather a lot of stuff, I started off with one small plastic box, now I think I need a removals lorry! Thankfully my instructor is moving me and she has a big horsebox so George will have to share it with a huge wheelbarrow, large blanket box, plastic drawer unit and 3 bales of hay!!

Dreckly the dressage test is on Nov 18th - think we will be very funny, comments like 'horse not on bit and resisting contact, horse thinks he is a giraffe, rider somewhat unbalanced'!!! But hey just plaiting up and getting there will be an achievement!

dozziesmummy, funny you should mention rugs, as he will now be in an outdoor stable rather than a barn, I'm thinking he will need a thicker stable rug don't you think??!!!

Good Luck with the move. I always get nervous about moving yards too but both times I have the horses were absolutely fine about it. I got all worried about it and the horses settled really quickly so I'm sure George will be fine too!

I also find when you are new at a yard the YO's and other liveries etc there are usually really helpful showing you where everything is and I think people are just generally nosey and like to know all about the new horse!!

Oh Trish - these are all comments we got in the beginning - funny thing is some of us are still getting them now - where did I go wrong!!

Deffo new rugs needed!!!

Good Luck.

At least when meeting new people at a yard conversation is so easy to start isn't it? Just ask about their horse!

Good luck Trish, hope all goes well!
Am sure George will love his new home, and you'll be more relaxed there.

I may even make it along to watch on the 18th, know quite a few people going that day, so might turn up for a gander - will let you know in advance.

Best of luck for the move, make sure you post and let us know how it goes!!

good luck! I'm moving this week too, can't wait! Hope we settle in well tho, I've never been on a yard like it before, but it's Flash's old home before I bought him so he has no excuse
