All I can say is that you onery middle aged women have a lot to answer for!

Following the YO hitting my horse incident and last night being accused of making my horse randy (see other post head desk!) I have arranged for Vardi to be collected from the yard on Tuesday.

6 weeks ago I went to a demonstration day with Emiele Voest a trainer in Holland who has developed a Freestyle system of training (very much in the style of Kelly Marks) he has worked with some of Anky's horses and is well known here as offering a sensible and good all round training for both the horse and owner. I was very impressed and had a long chat to him about my horse and my confidence issues.

Anyhow I called him last night and chatted about my worries that Vardi has had crap training so far with no consistancy and that I have a deep seated worry about just how I will cope with him once I move him to his new yard.

We have arranged to move Vardi now to his yard where we will treat him like a new horse to me, evaluate him and gently fill in his knowledge gaps.....part of the training conract is that I have to attend at least 4 hours a week to work with him and Vardi so that I am fully involved. I will go and spend a week down there at the end so that .we can work on my riding confidence issues.

The instructor who I met last week is very enthuastic about this and he has said no problem with her coming with me to take part so that everyone who handles him does so in the same consistant manner.

The really annoying part is that he is charging me only 80 euros more than I have been paying for livery and training at my present yard.....ok smile and move on.....

Can't wait to see YO's face when I tell her that Vardi will be picked up on Tuesday by a Representative from Emiele Voest....

Well done

- it sounds like you have found a really good solution for both you and Vardi and I hope it works out for both - I'm sure just the stress of not being on that yard will help!!!
