I've been at my yard for 4 years now and my ponies have never been moved with me apart from when I got them. It's going to be a big change for them we are going from somewhere very basic to somewhere with better facilities and a few more horses and people around.
One is very stressy and when I got her she was a bit loopy for a few weeks until she settled so have that to look forward to I guess!!
I've only had to move once before with the pony I had before and he was such a chilled little man he was just looking for the ladies when he stepped off the trailer ;)

So any tips?

Preperation is key. Plan everything, write lists if you need to so you make it go as smoothly as possible.

Have everything ready before the big day so all you have to do on the day is turn up, load up and move. dont leave anything to the last minute. Make sure all travelling boots/ rugs are clean and ready, haynets for travelling are filled and ready in the trailer/ box (or ready to go in the traveller)
If you can get to the new yard the day before to bed down and hang a haynet if they are being stabled and prep a feed, water etc to ensure you are not running round at the last minute trying to find that bucket you thought you saw the other week ..... :D You can also plan your route around the yard to and from the fields (like walking a XC course) so you know where you are going to show calm leadership to your ponies to help them feel secure.

Introduce yourself to the new people on the yard, ask if there is anything special planned for the day you are moving which might disrupt your plans etc?

I would also consider introducing a supplement to help keep them calm and relaxed. Perhaps Fireworx or Supercalm from Global Herbs!

Hi, I have recently moved yards, you may have seen my other posts. I was majorly panicking as my horse is VERY stressy. When he first arrived with me he would run circles round in his stable, he stayed like this for a few months before settling! Anyway he arrived at the new yard a little hot but other than that was nothing like the stressy maniac he was before. So all I would say is be prepared as per the previous post but try not to stress yourself out about what might happen, horses seem to have a habit of surprising you. Try to get the horses in to a routine as quickly as you can so they can settle and introduce them to their new friends, within a few hours of us arriving on the new yard my horse was out meeting his new turnout friends, this definitely helped as most of his stress occurs in the stable.

Just try not to get too stressed about the move as they will sense this and think something is wrong!

Good luck sure everything will be fine :)

Think I've got some fireworx left actually that's a good idea thanks :) have a bit of sedalin left too so going to give it to my mare for travelling ive only got a tiny bit left but hopefully will take the edge off her and we won't have her prancing onto the yard screaming her head off like she did when I got her :p she's a welsh a who currently looks like a sheep so first impressions won't be great if she's prancing like a stallion and showing off :o
Will be moving everything before except for the fencing in the field and the gate etc and stuff that's not needed at the new yard.

Bach's Impatiens is good, just a few drops in the mouth about 20 minutes before you travel. You can give a few more if needed after the 20 minutes.
