So after a year at my current yard both as a livery and part-time RI my relationship with the YO has deteriorated and the livery price has trippled leaving me with no choice but to move (feel a bit forced out, actually, but that is a whole other thread). I have found a yard that I can afford while on my maternity leave (which starts in a 3 weeks) and will be making the big move on Friday.
My girl has been at the yard we are leaving for 5 years, and has never left the property in that time (I bought her from the YO). She is a TB mare, about 20- 22 yrs old who is currently living out 24/7 with 2 geldings who follow her everywhere. I am so sad to take her away from her little herd and I'm worried about the effect the move will have on her. She will still be out 24/7 but with a much larger group of 10 geldings and 2 mares. Does anyone have any advice on how I can help her settle in? Right now she is lunged three times a week and I have a sharer lined up for the first few months after my baby is born to get her back into ridden work. I am planning on continuing our lungeing routine and bringing her in once a day for some grooming and general fuss for the first week of the new place. Or should I let her settle into the herd for a few days before working her?
Large G&T for all who got this far :D

I'd keep bringing her in for groundwork. Just play it by ear. Hope all goes well with the move and congratulations!
