Hi everyone,
Finally found a suitable yard to move my horse to. He's generally pretty good at settling in a new yard but an awful loader. He also hasn't had the best past so I want to make the process as easy and stress free as possible for him.
He moves on Saturday, were going to do a practice loading on Friday, get him in the trailer for a feed, a few treats and then off again so that hopefully on Saturday it goes well.
Saturday morning I'm heading up to the new yard and laying his bed, haynet etc so that that's all ready and waiting for him once he arrives. Going back to the other yard to load/transport. Once off the other end I plan to put him in his stable, give him a feed and let him be a few minutes just to get used to the new sights/sounds/smells etc. Then spend a while with him before finally coming home myself.
Anything I'm missing?
