Well I've finally taken the plunge and am moving Osc tmrw. The yard I am moving to is lovely, I couldn't wish for better facilities or location so I'm very excited. I just hope Osc settles in ok, he's not the quietest of horses and he's been at my present yard for the 10 years I have had him.

The job of moving my rubber matting is looming.....

Good luck!
Not jealous of moving your rubber mats, moved mine a while ago and they stunk and then anybody or anything that touched them stunk!
Never again

I was SO excited when i moved yards i thought i was going to burst. Id been there 15 years but it had changed so much and was just full of kid that i had to go and.......it was the best thing ive ever done! Love new yard, been there almost 2years and its flown in.Wish id done it years ago!
Hmmm rubber mats are not pleasent to lift. Our YO cleans and re paints the stables every summer and when he moved mine he said he was charging me extra as they were so stinky underneath despite being well fitted and in a dry well sloping stable.

Pleased to hear you are happy after your move, I'm in a similar situation as I've been at the yard for 13 years, but I do feel it's time to go. Things change and it's just not really working for me there anymore.

Cleaning and moving the mats is going to be a horrid horrid job - I've got the overalls and waterproofs at the ready for myself and OH!!

I moved ten days ago to a great yard. Like you I was worried as mine is a bit stressful at the best of times.
However the change is unbelievable, he's like a different horse really chilled and settled within a day or two.
Hope yours is as good!

Thanks, it would be lovely if he settled that quickly!

One of the huge deciding factors of me choosing this yard is that it has a very strict routine, which will suit my boy completely. He's one of those ones that is stood with his foot tapping looking at his watch (if he could!) if you are as much as 5 minutes late

. The fact the yard has the best facilities around was an added bonus

.

I had my last ride tonight and I have to say that as much as I am nervous/ excited about the move tmrw, I'm also quite sad

. Huge end of an era for me and I have to say that it's one of those times where you don't think it's ever going to come and yet here I am!

Sorry I'm waffling...

just fingers crossed I'm doing the right thing!
