Just interested to know what has made people move their horses to a new yard. Has it always been as you have had problems at the yard you were on or you would just be better off at a different yard.
I suppose what i'm trying to say is have you ever left somewhere even though you get on with the people and don't have any significant problems?

Last yard move was because we were moving house, making the old yard over an hour away, so we obv had to move the horses. The yard was good, although there was one bully we were happy to leave behind. Sadly the YO got the hump and has been weird since! Nice yard, but I don't think there is any yard I would commute an hour to each way for DIY livery!

Yes, I loved my last yard, had great friends, the owners were lovely and I still see a lot of them now. I only moved as the yard was closer in relation to work and home and it was a lot cheaper for better facilities. Saying that though, I absolutely love my current yard, we all get on like family and I'd even go so far as to buy a house closer to it, rather than have to move yards when we move house.

I've moved 4 times.
1st time - lack of winter turnout
2nd time - Kept mums pony there but moved Nadia to a field behind my flat which was free, needed to save money and Nadia needed 24/7 365 turnout
3rd time - I moved areas
4th time - uncertainity of the future of the yard.
This yard - love it and don't want to have to move again.

I am going to be moving yards soon (waiting for stable to come available at new yard).

I love the yard i am on now, people are great, horse is happy and it is a really pretty yard. I have been there for 2 years now, my first yard wit my first horse at it has been a brilliant introduction. However most people there are either happy hackers or non-riders and I now feel i am ready to be a bit more competative and want to move to a yard with more like minded riders.

My new yard has similar facilities but is larger for pretty much the same price. However riders there are a good mix of hackers, leisure riders, dressage riders, eventer, show jumpers etc so I am hoping to have some new friends to go out competing with :)

I will really miss my current yard though :(

Various reasons such as no winter turnout (even though 365 days a year turnout was on contract!), Too far away, Issues with barns useage (Dartmoor national park) and most recent was falling out with person we shared barn with (Got to the point where she was screaming at me across the yard and making me cry! Im only 16 and she is 45ish so not very mature on her behalf!) but happy with new yard and keep myself to myself and do what i need to do :)

I was at a private yard owned by close family and it was a silly fall out that cause us to move (and the lack of riding i could do in winter due to only having outdoor)
I also prefer having other people around now as was only me at old yard, spend so much more time with the horses now :D
