Moving yards!

Hi guys im moving my pony and sadly seperating him from my mums horse, Imlooking for Tips and Tricks for moving! He is really good and has come to college with me so used to moving around but does anyone have any tips! and Do you move everything on the day your Horse goes or Take stuff up the Day/days before so everything is ready on arrival?

Depends on the distance between yards…when I moved from Scotland to England I moved stuff one weekend and the horses a few days later. When I moved 2 miles I did everything in one day..stuff first and horses last.

The yard is about an hour away but my car is tiny and will hardly fit anything in it and I have alot of stuff

I tend to try to move most of the stuff in the run up but leave essentials and the stable (if need to clear) until after the horse has moved, just in case any issues on the day - speaking from experience here!

Ahhh….I have a trailer…and a truck..lots of space.

Great thank you! Yeah I'm working the day before he moves but thinking of going up 2 days before just to move the heavy stuff wheelbarrow mucking out tools and shavings etc

I moved 2 miles!! I moved all the stuff I could in the days leading up to the move. Then moved horses and went back to old yard to clean out stables etc
