How awful.

Sympathies to Fiona and family. A huge loss for them and for the British team.

Very sad. Really brought home to me how there are some things you just can't prevent. We know horses break legs while turned out, but that it happens to a top horse, turned out (solo I presume but don't know) with boots and bandages and surely well-supervised, shows how little we can do.
Thoughts to those who knew him.

So sad.... the same thing happened to my own homebred Hanoverian mare... I had had her from 1 hour and she was 10 when we found her in the field - had to have her put to sleep... although my mare's injury was due to another horse....

My eldest daughter works for Fiona's mum and dad at their yard in Kent.... she looks after her retired dressage horses as well as youngsters that come over to be turned away...

Sad news....
