My friend bought a horse off him last year (hairy yearling colt) and he is fantastic. He has a lot of good looking horses that sell very quickly. Don't know how/why they are so cheap though.

Would you mind sending me a pm as well. Have just seen a horse for sale that sounds perfect for daughter but as this is our first purchase after years of loaning I'm keen not to be caught out!

Thanks

I've just been to see a youngster he had, at a nice yard near swindon, not like the place you describe in your pm, Denwynb_Myfanwy. Horses were turned out in large fields with good grass (no mud/bog or wellies required). lots of really nice horses, most of which are already sold, awaiting collection. I asked about the weedy youngster you were referring to (he thinks it was called Blaze or Blade - is that right)? he said he only has horses/ponies/youngsters a very short time before they are sold to a new home, so there is no length of time for horses that may need to build up condition to put weight on. Anyway i have just bought a nice spotted yearling from them and collect it at the weekend.

They seem to play an honest game and care for their horses well and he told me that he will not sell a horse to someone if he think they will not be compatable. He also told me he has been doing this for two years with no negative feedback. Horses are priced reasonably unlike some greedy dealers and he relies on turnover of a lot of horses rather than massive profits on individual horses.

Hope this helps everyone. Feel free to pm me as well.

This is the "very weedy under nourished yearling" that Denwyn_Myfanwy is refering to, does he look weedy, thin or undernourished?

This is the photo we advertised him with when he came in and I find it offensive that Denwyn is basically saying i dont feed my horses.

We rely on turnover to make a nominal profit, rather than overpricing and don't overcharge our customers in the process.

Example, we sold Bonnie, a 13yr old liver chestnut mare to someone in lincolnshire, who we didn't know were dealers, for a very reasionable £1500. She is now readvertised for £3850 up there. The photo's look possibly lightened and now looks almost palamino. Understandably, she is still for sale at that price...
