Well just a quick report from me
..some of you may know that my horse had Kissing spine surgery on the 27th of November 2012. They removed 2 fused bones from his back. We have had a long road to recovery which included a three month water treadmill program and I started back riding at the end of March. In my wisdom I decided to take him to do two walk trot dressage classes. Before his opp he was a monster you did not want to take him anywhere let alone have to get on him and ride. The collecting ring was my arch nemesis. The one and only time I took him in one he just napped and was vile. So with this all in mind I thought I would man up and get on with it and see how it goes. Talk about my heart in my mouth
..he was an angel he loaded well at home and we were off
still bricking it mind
..got him there we off loaded him and I thought I would try to take him into the collecting ring to see how he would behave
..well blow me down with a feather he was really good. He worked in with all the horses quite happily and got on with it. We came out of the collecting ring had the compulsory spooked and the flower pots and went into the ring. Because I was coming up centre line and turning right I trotted around the arena left
what I did not thing was there is a viewing gallery to the right so when we trotted up centre line we had an AAAHHHHHHHHHH freeze moment when he saw them hehehe.. Anyhoo he completed his first test and was a good donkey and he finished 6th!!!
We had a 40 minute wait between tests and Moose just stood tied to the trailer and went to sleep ..again normally he would have tried to break free and leave, I then warmed him back up and he called a lot in the colleting ring but he was the only one in there he was a complete angel in his second test no spooking at the crowd and he listened to me and behaved beautifully ..the best news of all is that WE WON!!! This is a horse that 6 months ago I thought I would never ride . He won by over 4% and we had over 8 points more than the others for our collectives. He then loaded onto the trailer and went home looking rather pleased with himself!!! Cant wait for the next outing and starting to learn how to jump!!!
Anyhooo here is link to his winning test!!
