So Mr Zeb is back out and showing off as a SJ pony.

I've been panicking (as you know) about my jumping. Our flatwork has been spot on (including 2 time changes even minus a dressage saddle) but I've just not been nailing it jumping wise. Anyway after a few months off due to inflamed tendon sheath we went SJing today at Parley (www.parleyequestrian.co.uk I think) it's relatively local (Hurn Airport) and they've got a lovely big arena.

Entered 1.05 and 1.10 as haven't been out for a while and I couldn't be happier with the results...

He's only been to this place once when we went gridworking/teaching about a year or so back on a bleary cold day. So to arrive on a bright, hot, sunny day with the fences gleaming must have been an eyeful! Not for Mr Z :) True to the professional that he is, he popped out of the lorry, was tacked up loose (lol) and stood like an angel to get on (for once  )

We warmed up on a hard field and then wondered in to the ring to an array of bright fences, fillers, and nice lines

Popped the first quietly and then went "oh mum can I pop in 4 on this 3 stride distance?" "NO" was the reply so he stopped  ooops!

haha not to be deterred (this always happens at the beginning of our seasons and it's been something we have been working on as we would both rather add in related distances than take away) we popped it and finished on a clear round vid:

anyway came out with lots of pats and flapjack as he was just cracking. his teeth are due hence only in the mullen mouth and cavasson(sp) (on loosest hole) and I can't really touch him mouth wise so really REALLY pleased he came back to me when I wanted :)

Then onto the 1.10 where I hardly warmed up as the ground was just so hard and he's so lovely that I can just go in and jump (didn't want to risk legs either on the ground)

He was super dooper, going for the first clear untill numpty on board decided that because we were trying to ride "forwards" she would go for the longest shot known to mankind and attempt to take off a mile from the double (which was actually at 1.20 lol!) oooops! clever pony put brakes on but popped it fab 2nd time and came through previously demonising 3 stride related perfectly see vid:

So I am chuffed with my little man. So we had a pole in the 1.10? Who cares, he jumped superbly, I am keeping my position a lot straighter and less over his shoulders and I am SO pleased with how we are going.

Vid of him enjoying sand:

And a vid of my crazy dog, if you want a giggle :)

Thanks for reading :) I'm not sure why my smilies aren't working :)

omg and I'm sorry about the fluff! I forgot to take it off and was the only breastplate I like jumping him in!

I think he looks very pleased to be out, and I think you are allowing a bit more with your hands than last year. Looks a lovely place, apart from having to warm up on a field (although we are eventers, we should be able to cope!).

I really DO feel like I've cracked it with the hands, I kept giggling to myself as it's what I've been working on with my friend in the photos with a mare she has so whether subconsciously I thought about it I don't know but dead pleased I did it and photos reflect it! :)

Thanks guys, I'm so pleased with my little man, nice to know we can still make a few mistakes and still be pleased with the day :)

awwwe its the pingy ginger one!!! he looks really well,,,,, and so pingy!! great team brilliant well done!!!

thanks guys :) I felt so confident today and rather chilled and didn't even throw up once (maybe that's because I didn't eat or drink anything for about 12 hours before hand!)

He is super pingy at the moment and suprised we didn't get more acrobatics!!

Thats fab Jules, glad you had such a great time and also pleased to hear Zeb is back on form. He certainly looks awesome:D

Woah, you look fab over number six! Well done, only one pole and I think your position is really nice (having just started to fix a fatal error with mine this morning I keep looking at pictures of people jumping well and willing myself to look like that!!)

:) thank you I was dreading having someone slate me but everyone's been so nice, thank you :)

Shame it's taken us till April to start jumping but I feel SO much better for it and evern thuoght I'm still panicking about his legs I can't keep worrying as scans showed nothing? Now just got to coordinate moving and working with competing....argh! I want to be out competing! Or maybe SJ is the way forwards??? hmm! :)

Thanks again guys

MerryMAL I'm not sure what pic that is I'll have another look (few friends' bday cocktails in me) but believe me my position is not the best. I've been working on my hands as my pone needs lots of room over a fence and a trainer of mine who I respect a lot told me to think about putting my hands "down" over a fence (towards shoulders) and that has worked amazingly but has taken me ages to put it into the secondary nature of doing it automatically :) I was so pleased it just clicked today! :)

Well done - what a great day especially as you hadn't been out in a while. You're clearly beaming from it and coming away feeling happy with yourself and your horse is pretty much the bestest thing to put you on a high (well that's how it is with me anyway :))

Love the dog/hose vid - my dogs do that too, people think they are loony. You should see them when we put the sprinkler on in the garden, keeps them busy for hours :D

Looking fab, looks a lovely place. I call my horsey Zeberdee too. this is her.. good luck for the future, hopefully i'll be posting pictures of us jumping soon. x
