MRI.... is it covered on YOUR insurance???

Just got my renewal and found that its only covered by previous arrangement on a 50% basis....

Is this the norm????? I am with NFU by the way!!

I've been with NFU for 4 years - i think it was in 2005 or 2006 that they changed this part on the policy. It only when you find out how much they cost(~£1200

) that you realise this is a bit of an issue!!

I'm with Shearwater and they cover full costs for diagnostics but always worth asking them before your vet gets it done as usually by referral & most polices you'd need prior permission.

My horse has just had an MRI and we had to get written permission from the insurance (SEIB) before we went ahead.

I'm with Petplan and I'm sure they said they paid all MRI costs. In fact I am pretty sure they said they paid whatever treatment was recommended whether than was conventional or non-conventional but that sounds a bit too good to be true. I def remember her saying they paid for everything tho which is where other insurers don't and are cheaper as a result.

I'm with pet plan and have nothing mentioned about MRI on my plan? Just have £125 excess and all vets fees covered. Though I would write to them if we needed one.
