I've had my insurance come back do me and advise they will cover my claim. I emailed them to say my horse had been referred and let them know the estimated cost, they didn't come back to me but I went ahead with MRI. Vet didn't see a problem and are happy to deal with my insurers. I'm now worried they won't cover the claim but at the same time don't are why not as they are covering £5000 vets fees.

Please someone settle my mind

Not to worry you but MRI is one of the big things that insurance differs with between companies, some companies will cover 100% of costs, some 50%, some wont cover the cost of MRI. Best thing to do is ring and ask what they usually pay with regards to an MRI.
