Had a lovely experience today at Talland where the indomitable Mrs Sivewright recounted some lovely tales of her younger days. I suggested that she really ought to write her memoirs for the rest of us to enjoy reading during the long winter evenings.
That got me thinking that there must be many stories that she has told people over the years and following on from other recent "memories of days gone by" threads I'd love to hear some of them here.
I loved the story she told me of her arriving at a hunt as a child with her mount only to have to leave almost immediately.... her mother had loaded the family donkey by mistake instead of Molly's pony!
