hello. thought i'd better start a new thread as the other 1 was getting rather full.
i wrote u a massive long msg yesterday and now its bloody been deleted! i'll c if i can rememba wot the hell it was i wrote....

o yeah, i was in major bitch mode as the vet had just been and it turned out that paddy is lame on his near hind. vet suspects arthritis( xcuse me if that is spelt wrong!) which may have arisen due 2 an old injury which he had after i'd only had him a few months.
he got kicked in a field as we only had one big paddock at one of my previous yards so every1 was chucked out in it. u can imaging wot havoc it caused, especially when mares came in2 season. also it was suspected that one of the nags was a rig, and was probably the 1 who kicked paddy.

paddy then had 2 b rushed of 2 peter greens vet practice 2 have his hock sorted and it was touch and go as 2 whether he'd b able 2 b ridden again, let alone jump!
n e way, this injury meant there was more chance of that leg having arthritis set in, so our insurers won't cover the leg 4 this. (so basically hes only insured 4 3 legs against this).
so we're in a dilema as 2 whether we should fork out loadsa dosh 2 treat it, but there could b a possibility that he wont b able 2 do much more than light hacking(if that) or should we leave the leg and just keep him as a companion?

argh!!! i'm sooooo pissed off! i could kill the pony that kicked him! i'm getting deja vu here as i was saying this xactly 2 yrs ago!

n e way, on a more pleasant note......

i wasnt there when that bloke walked in2 the swimming pool changing rooms as at my skool u dont have 2 swim from the age of 15 but some younger girls spread it around so it cld b a load of tosh but seeing as the skool put codes on all the doors very soon after the incident occured, it was highly probable that it did happen!

sounds like u have a wicked view from ur skool. we're rite in the centre of town so all u can c r houses. also, we're rite nxt door 2 bedford prison so on the other side u can only c a massive brick wall. (such a pleasant view!)
Also, our skool was built abt 500 yrs ago so all the windows r really high so u cant c the poor, pathetic view in half the skool n e way!

once a prisoner escaped from nxt door so u can imagine wot that did 2 950 girls in the skool nxt door! every1 was in an oblivion of panic! it was pretty boring actually, looking back on it, as he did go in our car park, but then he was caught.
i cant believe that ur skool has CCTV! now that u've brought that up, i'd have xpected it at my skool, given the money we have 2 spend 2 bloody go there. Also, every term they send u a letter 2 say that the fee's are increasing by 10% so the cost of going there has probably quadrupled since i first started when i was abt 7!

the gymkhana that i went 2 last weekend was run by the puckeridge pony club so i guess its mainly PC's that run them at their open shows.
i've gotta get my nags backs checked this week as i think they're a bit sore as 2 of them arn't going evenly on both reins.
Rio also spelt it out 4 me by doing a miniture buck when i put his saddle on 2day!
thats abt all the news i've got 4 the min so i'll chat 2 u soon!

hellooooooooooo.
how cum they deleted ur msg?they normally only delete them if u r advertising something!
poor paddy!my old pony was suspected to have arthritus coz now and again when u were hacking you herd a clicking noise in her back legs.weird.
that is out of order that ur insurance wont pay for the leg.i mean, u put all ur money into this, and when something finally happens to your horse they wont cover it.rip off.

how old is paddy?if he is a very good showjumper, and could still win 1m 10 classes weekly, then i would say that it would be worth getting it sorted, and then bring him back to work then lease him to get ur money back!
all our livery fields are mixed.i think that since i have been there bout 5 horses have been put down coz of being kicked.one horse that i used ot ride for this lady is a ex point to pointer.i was getting him into jumping, but any way.he was kicked bout 2,3 weeks ago.it must of been a hevy horse coz the cut is too big to stitch up and you can see his bone and muscles!uughh!poor horsey!

yer prob.skools dont tell u these things tho do they?they try to keep ther rep up so people will still put there kids there!

my skool is old too.my mum went to that skool when she was my age and had the same p.e teacher as me!that is old!lol

see.thats wots good bout public.you can mess them up and all that and the teaching is free!

well done for the gymkhana!
i done pretty bad this weekend coz brambles did not want to jump.
perfect for the day when i use my last ticket for the bn 2nd rounds!she refused number 2.not a good start.but after that she flew round the course without touching a pole.it was bad tho coz the organisers (arena uk) had decided to put senior discovery in there coz the other ring was taking too long.so i waited 5 hours till i could jump.not only that but the weather was scorching and by the time i got on her she was in a mood and just wasnt into jumping!
oh well.im gona go for the newcommers 2nd rounds now!

i'm not overly sure y it got deleted. the computer probably got bored of me as i spent abt half an hour writing it! paddy gave me a hear attack 2day as i went 2 say hello 2 him in the field and he had this massive lump of skin just hanging off of his chest. it was like a tennis ball in size but there were no cuts or wounds so i was having fits thinking it was a haemotoma. the vet came l8r that evening 2 do tests on paddy's leg, and sed that it was just a bad reaction 2 a fly bite!

paddy is only 11, but even if his leg is treated, he still mite not b able 2 do very much.

sounds rather bad at ur yrd! all those horses getting kicked! I still keep in touch with my old yard and loadsa ppl have the same problem.

I hate jumping when its boiling hot-i just cant b arsed! had 2 do that on rio at patchetts a few times. I remember getting eliminated on one occasion and on the other occasion i took the wrong course 4 the jump off-it was very embarrassing as i hadnt realised i'd done it and they were apparently repeatedly sounding the bell 2 get me 2 stop!
I only noticed when some other girl came in2 the ring when i had 2 fences left 2 jump. i remember thinking " y's she bloody entered the ring when i havent finished yet?!" - God, i felt like a retard!
have u got n e NC double clears 4 nxt years 2nd rounds?
I saw a pic of u in an old chiltern rider mag the other day!! brams looks well cute! i think u'd won an unaff class at hall place or sumwhere like that.

chat 2 u l8r,
vicky

Hi guys,
I'm an equine therapist.Just a quicky about arthritus. It is basically a degenerative joint disese which will get progressively worse over time. Naturally as horses age the damage to joints outweighs repair as the body slows down. If a horse has a heavy workload this also accelerates degeneration as do certain joint injuries. However it is not all doom and gloom. the most important thing is to manage the condition well. If this is done you can ride as normal for many years and make your horse more comfortable. It is vital that you give any horse with a joint problem a high strength joint supplememnt. Please be aware that most leading brands massively underdose at levels that will have no effect on your horse, so check the labels. As a rule of thumb you should be feeding them 10g/10,000mg of glucosamine, 10g/10,000 mg MSM, and 4g/4000mg of chondroitin daily. Any less than this and it is no good. Those products that do not disclose dosage levels are nearly always shockingly underdosing. These compounds have been scientifically proven to reduce joint damage, repair existing damage and prevent further damage, as well as decreasing pain and inflammation.
There are a new range of products called Riaflex out formulated and produced by an equine therapist. They are all super high strength. If you type in riaflex-equine to a search engine it should come up. This also offers free advice on all injuries etc from a qualified therapsit. Loads of useful advice. Have a look. You will probably find it of some help.
Hope this helps!
