This is one of the saddest posts I have ever read on HH.
To be riding round Burghley one week then lose the horse the next doesn't bear contemplating.
It sounds as if it was mercifully quick for the horse but a terrible shock for her owner, my thoughts are with her tonight.
Oh dear god!!! Poor, poor Laura!! Absolutely devastating! I found the pair of them such an inspiration! RIP Brave Little Mare - you were without doubt one of the most awesome horses!
So , so sorry and sad, my words will not help but knowing that everyone is thinking of her may be a small comfort. Remember the great days, remember the fun days, remember she was loved and what more can we ask. RIP
What a shock, poor Connie but I'm sure she knew how adored she was and couldn't have wanted for a better owner and rider. Huge hugs and best wishes to Laura, totally devastated to hear this, such a shock.
Poor Laura, I am so sorry and i hope she realises she could have done nothing to prevent a blood clot, it could have been there for five days or five minutes. A hideous shock and I am truly sorry for her, hugs xx
I read the post about Burghley and loved the post that elleJS posted about this little mare, She thought the world of her and like a previous poster said ... To compete at burghley one week and loose your horse the next just doesnt bear thinking about
OMG.......have just seen this post and havn't read through all the other replies, don't post much on here but have been following her posts and am truly devastated for her.
Really, really sorry to hear this and hugs to poor Laura for her huge loss. What a tragedy. I can only guess how she's feeling and offer my complete sympathy.
