Hi! Has anyone had any problems with mud fever or cellulitis this year? My gee gee has never suffered with mud fever in his life (about the only thing he doesn't suffer from) and he's 13 now. Recently I moved to a new yard and within a week he had mud fever. He was already wearing turnout mud chaps and he already had his legs hibi scrubed , rinsed and towel dried when he came in and then stable booted for the night! His mud fever wasn't bad and we got it mainly under control but his legs wer still a bit swollen and hot. The vet came to give him his boosters today so I asked him to have a quick look at his legs. Even though his legs wer fine and he said they wasn't of major concern but he had a TINY case of cellulitis he gave me a weeks antibiotics and bute! So that should deffo do it! Now I only ask as nearly half the horses at my yard have got mud fever, one of which has recently had septic cellulitis but he's finally on the road to recovery though! . (So not surprising Harry got mudfever). So I was wondering who else had had problems this year and what everyone's doing to treat or prevent it???
