Looks like my boy's going to be prone to mud fever judging by the little scabs that have appeared on his heels. Just wondering what your best tried and tested preventions & treatments are :)

I've had alot of success treating it with the Muddy Marvel products. :) The Muddy marvel barrier cream has also prevented my mare getting mud fever since I discovered it. I put it on her dry legs (fetlock to coronet, in a downwards motion) twice a week.

I've been using purple spray on heels and it's fantastic, horse looks a little odd & colourful but I much prefer it to lots of cream or grease.

Two of mine had really bad mud fever two years ago. I cleared that up with Sudocrem and now feed Naf Mud Gard supplement which is miraculous, no sign of mud fever at all and my filly gets mud fever as soon as there's dew on the grass!
