Turn out boot question really,

Last year i bought a pair of sportback(think that what it called) turnout boots, he simply pulled them of and that was that, they were in pieces.

What about something like this? Combo Sports Boots
http://www.premierequine.co.uk/acatalog/Sports_Boots_and_Protection.html

He gets mud fever very badly, and i dont want to have to be keeping him in, so im trying to think of anything to stop it.

I have vet ointments etc which keep it under control, but im just thinking of things, so anything you can think of would be brill

A woman at my old barn used to turn her mare out in boots similar or identical to the 'sports boots' on the premierequine website and never had any problems with them. I think the way the straps are designed makes it harder for the horses to pull them off so they might be worth a try. Good luck!
