I have a gateway into my small field that gets really muddy and it's the gateway I use to get out onto the bridleway, it's only a very small bit that gets really bad so I wouldn't need loads.

Only thing is there is concrete up to the edge of the field so would need to put them up to that edge, would I be best to lay some sand over them once they are down.

So what I am asking if it is doable and would it be safe to ride over on a daily basis?

I have mud control slabs and just plonked them down in the slop last winter. Some mud did ooze through which we scraped off. We relaid them this spring when everthing had dried up. They work great and you can hear the ground squelsh as you walk about but no mud on the surface.

Thanks I will have to measure the area and work out how many I need, it is only a small area so won't need loads it's just one of my horses hates walking through it when I ride.

You can chuck mud control slabs onto liquid mud. I can't see mine in my worst gateway any more but there's usually a horse standing on them while they work up the enthusiasm to brave the rest of the bog. I've been really impressed
