My field shelter entrance is one big quagmire. Have dug it out once installed a drainage pipe. The pipe is clear there is a slight slope to it but its a swamp. l have cleared the area round the pipe. Any suggestions what to fill it in with to make it safe? Thanks in advance! First ever posting be gentle with me!
Welcome Goodfarrier .. Same problem here..mud mud and yet more mud. Yard owner said she'd put some hardcore down but it's not happened yet and with yet more rain today it's not going to get any better. I suggested she get some straw as I'd seen it used but she didn't like that idea and said it'd just make more mess. ??
Rain until next wednesda, might as well go underground and hibernate.
OP get a few bags of stone the largish ones and just lay them outside the door and around the pipe, if you can get your hands ona rubber mat put that over the top to keep them in place, until summer then you can do a better job at fixing it.
till wednesday ?? URGH !!! We had a fab ride out in the frost this morning, BUT could not get the car doors open to start with, they were frozen solid.
Hi Bobbly, i have heard of using carpet before but where should i put it? Over hardcore? Layer of hardcore, then carpet with what on top? Ty for all your help.
