mud rant - upset UPDATE am being REPORTED!

some companys that chip wood get rid of it for free it might be worth ringing around and see if there are any in your area and putting it in the gate ways. I had loads this winter to do my schooling areaand like i say they dont charge because its cheaper for them too. Try gardeners as well.

mine have a bit of mud on their legs, they're field has one boggy patch in the middle, and they have plenty of dry - about an acre, yet still go in the boggy bit!!

Im sure they'll turn up and realise that your horses are fine, gateways being muddy is not really an issue, as long as they are fed and watered!! :)

Unfortunately there are some interfering gits who know sweet FA about horses who have nuffin better to do than go around the countryside interfering. There's someone in our village who every time she sees a horse out without a rug she almost rings the RSPCA. The horse in question is left unclipped and is a native breed who has plenty of weight on and has a hide like an elephant!! It is loved and cherished and is in perfect health.

Unfortunately someone also complained about a cockerell crowing and the local council who again have sweet FA nothing better to do (funded in palatial luxury in their plush offices) came out and took some noise readings.

Face it peeps, we live in a Police State and Big Brother is definately watching you.

OP - If people think horses can't stand in any mud our yard would be closed down! The field slopes to the gate and the horses choose to stand and gather ahead of coming in of an afternoon, sometimes for several hours. The top half of the field is dry and fine! Mud has varied from 4" deep to about 8" in the worst of the winter but they've all been fine - just muddy! And hardly anyone's had any mud fever to speak of. Last week with the better weather it all dried up but today is back to shallow wet sloppy mud again with the rain. The world's gone mad.

ah dont worry
thats horses for you- they seem to like to stand with their heads down in the mud sometimes!
if they do report it, the people will come out and see the ponies are fine. no prob, just annoying for you and who ever they report it to!

This sounds like a case of "all the gear and no idea" from those bithching about you (does not apply to all owners with their horses on livery, just the self opinionated ones that we all know so well!).
