Mudchute Farm - Isle of Dogs

I rode there for a while when I lived in SE London. It is a nice yard, very organised and well run. Most (possibly all, I'm not sure) of the horses are on working livery so they tend to be a bit nicer than your average RS horse. My only gripe is there is only very very limited turnout and many of the horses never seem to leave the yard at all as there is not really any hacking... and this is why I stopped going in the end. Not fair for the horses imo, but inevitable in central London I suppose.

Btw, are you going to get there on the DLR? If so, take the well lit long route down the road, rather than cut through the park as there have been some muggings. Be careful on these long dark nights!

I live in Surrey Quays (good horsey area there!) Yeah, I was thinking that I wouldn't want to walk through the park at night ....you know...5pm at the moment!!

I was actually going to move the pony there on working livery, but was worried about the turnout, and is there hacking? I suppose I don't mind as really I just want to get back to horsies and do some slave labour....with a free ride and lesson maybe!!! The worst is where I was living last year, in WHite City, where under the WestWay overpass there is a riding school. They have no turnout...don't know if they have 'holidays' but never had the balls to go look as that was a really foul area.

Oh...and also I heard from a friend that there have been problems with attacks on the animals within the farm. Really, it is such a lovely idea to have a farm there (cows, sheep etc) but humans are so foul sometimes. Eugh.

Ohhh, my dad used to live near there! We used to walk past it on the way to Asda

Can't say I ever rode there but the few horses I saw in passing looked lovely and everything seemed well managed.
