Should I get the worst of the mud off? I don't like leaving it on, but is it hindering or helping him by me grooming him?
He is out at day, in during night (no-one else stays out!) No rugs. Unclipped. He was plastered in dry mud today. I used a rubber curry comb to remove the rest. Can I just leave it on? I would think he'll be more comfortable with the caked stuff off.

Good, that's my theory. Supposed to ride him...but he isn't competing so not essential..hopeing for some good rain to wash it all off !:D :b

Hi TripleSandH, im from northern ireland too.

Used a rubber curry comb on my friends horse, she is always so muddy! Dont want to brush her too hard, but she would stand and be groomed all day.

When she is going to be rode, we really just concentrate on the girth and saddle area.
