OK so is there anyone that is in a 'good relationship' that is on there, just for the little 'ego boost'?
I would hate to think people have put relationship as a want then are just on there to have a laugh or because they are bored becuse the hubby works away or is a turd, guess there are but hopefully you would find them out before they waste your time and emotional energy....

very fair point, and one I agree with whole heartedly. I suppose what I was getting at was, what peoples points of view were on this. For me it is a huge no no. I've been on the receiving end of it (as a partner) in the past and it really really hurt although nothing came of what my partner was doing and it really was to him an innocent bit of fun! I suppose seeing this post made me think that if the shoe was on the other foot, how would I view it if it was me doing the online thing? Furthermore it got me thinking that if I would view it as 'harmless fun' if I did it behind someones back (even though I absolutely wouldn't because I know how it felt to be on the receiving end) did i overreact by feeling betrayed. Is it such a big deal if people go on there for a safe flirt and an ego boost? As long as they are not misleading other people online.

I think that if you're in a relationship, but you feel the need to boost your ego by going online and signing onto a dating website, even if nothing comes of it, you have a problem with your relationship.

I would agree with you on that, but down here a lot of them are weird like that, and their OH's couldn't give a toss, but their relationships look very solid (however that is just an outsiders view, reality could be far different). Knowing that, kind of made me feel like alice in wonderland at the mad hatters tea party!

You need to have a look at marital affair, nights me and girl buddies have had had on there with a bottle of wine have been very funny :D

OK, I confess, I've been there!

Talked to a couple of rather dodgy characters to start with :D Then 'met' a really nice chap, emailed for a while then talked loads on the phone. It was all going swimmingly, arranging to meet up, then he disappeared. Found out later that he had died  and was actually a good 5 years older than he said he was :)

Have just signed up myself, have done the internet dating thing before, had a few dates, was seeing one guy for about 5 months last year (we're still in contact as friends now) - but since then havent tried it again, however thought i'd give it another go - we'll see, maybe my perfect rich, farmer type, tall rugby player physique, intelligent, horse & animal loving man with lots of land and property abroad will be on there - i dont really want much do i...?

Been trying to persuade my bro to go on there, he's only 23 and still lives at home so he doesn't think he'll get anywhere! He's mad about the outdoors and loves his horses, he just isn't in to clubbing etc so finds it hard to meet people!! He'd kill me if he knew I'd put this on here he he!!

Why oh why is he not 10 years older. If so Id be on your doorstep now
