Mudfever???

Harv has got it quite bad on his hind legs, there is a bog in the field and there constantly in it!!
Ever electric fence doesnt keep them out

Anybody recommend and treatments that work??

Any lotions/medication or just old wifes tails

Wash legs with Hibiscrub and then when completely dry smother them with sudocreme but they have to be bone dry.

Owner has been washing,drying completly and plastering with vasiline, but it seems to be getting worse!!


Will try what you said and see if it makes a differance

I'm doing exactly the same and its healing up nicely. But again it has to be dried thoroughly

pig oil and sulpur i swear by it and my mare has suffer from chronic mud rash and she hasn't had any for about a year

when it clears up smoother the legs in pig oil before he goes out in the field, it works a treat

We have found on our yard to leave the legs alone so only wash/clean/dry apply sudacream once a week rather than every day.

I use muddymarvel barrier cream , which you only need to apply once a week.

there is a cream that someone at our yard uses it comes from america its called Aromaheel i have used it on my mare with excellent results its not very expensive either and smells really nice (lavender).
you only need to apply it twice a week and it really works
