Hello everyone,
Having problems with my youngster. He seems to de very sensitive to muggy weather. He is very well behaved most of the time nott spooky fine with cars bikes etc. But when it is muggy he is like a bomb waiting to explode he shys at bike and bucks and rears at cars and runners and pedestrians and everything.
I have just stopped riding him when it is muggy as not worth it.
My question is does anyone else get this with their horse, I have been around horses for years and never experienced this. Very dor jeckyll and mr hyde behaviour.

Yes my lad is like this just now, he is normally very biddable, but this weekend, when we had the grandchildren over, he has been a total pain, despite the kids having ridden him before, his behaviour was unacceptable, this horse refuses to lunge, so I have been taking him out to settle him down before letting the kids on (10-13yr olds)

Not currently having problems, but have previously experienced it.. I think most of it's down to irritability.. I don't like working when it's muggy & it makes me want to throw the towel in & go to bed sometimes, so I can see where the horse would be coming from. Perhaps you could try riding early in the morning or late afternoon when it's cooler to see whether it makes a difference? If it does, it could just be the humidity getting a bit too much xxx

Thanks for that advice, He is quite easily irritated by flies and sweating so it could just be that he is getting annoyed. Will give it a try.
