Mullien tea

Mine is asthmatic, and yes I've used it. I used a dessertspoonful (or "handful" if you don't want to be scientific!) and made a tea with it. Steeped it overnight, and the next morning tipped the liquid (not the leaves) into a water-trug. We regularly do a "water buffet" for ours - and this was one trug which was available - we always ensure a trug of clean/fresh water is available for them. We've also used salty-water, as well as minty, turmeric, and cinnamon. We leave them to choose what they want/need.

My pony (profile pic) no;ticeably self-medicated with the mullein-tea trug, I caught her drinking at it quite often. Did it help her? Hard to say, but if she self-medicated I reckon she knew it was good for her.

This Spring/Summer I will be trying it again, deffo.

My boy has a cough at the moment and Ive just ordered some.
I need to get better at visualising quantities of dried herb!
I ordered 1kg, cos you know, horse size stuff.
Oh Jeez, if it works no-one will need cough syrup for a decade!

What’s quite sweet is I now make 3 cups of tea in the morning; one for me, one for OH and one for my horse.

I might try it. Mine tends to cough in spring. He has been on haylage all winter but ran out and had to feed hay. He started coughing then.
